Local Recommendations
Living and working in Cabo for years has taken me to every corner of the dining scene — from beachfront ceviche shacks to candlelit terraces. Here are the six spots I genuinely recommend to every client, every time.
Full disclosure: I own Joey's Cabo — but I'd recommend it even if I didn't. Started with a love for casual dining and transplanted from Toronto to Cabo, Joey's serves eclectic international fare the way it should be: generous, flavorful, and unpretentious. Breakfast through dinner daily (except Wednesday), live music nights, and a covered patio that buzzes with energy. It's become a go-to for my real estate clients the moment they land in town.
The best tacos in Cabo, full stop. Carnitas, grilled octopus, shrimp tostadas — and a mezcal list that'll make you understand why Oaxacans take it so seriously. The open-air setting on El Medano has great people-watching energy and a fun, festive vibe that works equally well for solo diners and big groups.
When clients want to celebrate a purchase over a proper dinner, this is where I take them. Ocean views from Punta Ballena, a dramatic open-air design, and a menu that balances traditional Latin staples with creative modern dishes. The grilled octopus and tuna tartare are outstanding. A bit more of an investment, but completely worth it for a special night.
A favorite among Cabo's longtime expat community and the one restaurant I recommend to every client who loves sushi. Nicksan goes far beyond rolls — full Japanese menu that rivals what you'd find in Tokyo, with exceptionally fresh fish and an intimate setting near Palmilla. Worth the drive from downtown every single time.
Cabo's best Italian, and a local institution. The pasta plates here are enormous — four people can honestly share one dish — and the ossobuco and carbonara are the real deal. Set outdoors under the stars with a serious Italian wine list. Come with a group, come hungry, and plan to linger. One of those restaurants that makes relocating to Cabo feel like a very good decision.
